Samsung said it opened a new manufacturing facility in Pune for FläktGroup-brand cooling and air-handling equipment, with a focus on AI data-centre customers. The plant sits at one of the less visible layers of the AI buildout: the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems that keep server halls running.
The 13,826-square-metre site was built in roughly six months, with production now underway, per Samsung. The portfolio includes Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs), and Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), equipment that moves and conditions air in server rooms and adjacent critical spaces. FläktGroup plans to scale production progressively to up to 6,500 HVAC units per year, a target the company describes as a ceiling rather than a current run-rate.
This is FläktGroup's first new manufacturing facility since Samsung closed its acquisition of the company in November 2025. Pune joins an existing FläktGroup plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The location puts the operation near Mumbai port, which the company says helps it serve India and other Asia-Pacific customers.
About 100 executives, customers, and partners attended an August 12 opening ceremony, including Cheolgi Kim, EVP and head of Samsung's Digital Appliance Business, and FläktGroup CEO David Dorney, Korea Herald reported. The launch was also covered by KED Global and Moneycontrol. No customer wins, contract values, or share estimates appeared in the press materials.
